First and foremost, thanks againto everyone who jumped into the Black Ops Cold War Open Beta! We can't wait for you to get your hands on all the additional content we've got in store for you to experience at launch on November 13th and beyond.
As always, part of that launch day experience is starting the player progression journey from level 1 to 55 to unlock new Create-a-Class content. During the Beta, we showed players a slice of what to expect up to level 40. Today, we're here to go into the full details behind our deepest Prestige system yet in Black Ops Cold War.
THE EVOLUTION OF PRESTIGE
We've heard from countless community members who live for the 'grind,' putting in the time and effort to earn unique Prestige Icons with each new milestone and showing off their Prestige Level to the rest of the world. We know the thrill of chasing the coveted title of Prestige Master, and the bragging rights that come along with it with each new game.
We've also seen a significant portion of players – including veterans of the Black Ops series who've been with us for a long time – who often choose not to Prestige because they don't want to lose access to the Create-a-Class content that they worked so hard to unlock by reaching level 55. Plus, with post-launch Seasons now delivering their own leveling paths in Warzone, we've heard from players who want to see their progress continue across Seasons in even more meaningful ways.
With all of this feedback in mind, our designers set out to create a new progression system that builds upon all the elements that players have come to love about Prestige, with some exciting new advancements:
Earn progress toward more Prestige Levels than ever before without losing any of the content you've already acquired.
The best of both worlds: there's always a new goal to pursue andyour progress toward Prestige keeps growing across Seasons.
Each new Season offers more Prestige milestones, new seasonal challenges to unlock, and more rewards to earn.
We call this new system Seasonal Prestige, and it starts with the launch of Black Ops Cold War. Here's everything you need to know.
SEASONAL PRESTIGE: OUR DEEPEST PROGRESSION YET
Starting on Day One in Black Ops Cold War, players will begin the traditional progression path from Military Rank 1 to 55 to unlock new weapons, Perks, Wildcards, Scorestreaks, Field Upgrades, equipment, and more.. and that's just the beginning. Beyond this point, your Seasonal Prestige journey begins at Season Level 1.

After completing Military Ranks at Level 55, you'll enter the Seasonal Leveling progression path and automatically earn your first Prestige at Season Level 1, keeping all of the Create-a-Class content you've unlocked already. During the Pre-Season period between launch and the beginning of Season One, you'll have the opportunity to reach up to three Prestiges, as well as a Weapon Blueprint at Season Level 50:
Prestige 1 at Season Level 1
Prestige 2 and Weapon Blueprint at Season Level 50
Prestige 3 at Season Level 100
Then, starting with Season One in December, your level will reset with each new Season and your progress will resume from the highest Prestige you achieved in the previous Season. Each Season will offer four additional Prestiges to achieve across the first 200 levels, plus a new Weapon Blueprint to earn at level 50:
New Prestige and Weapon Blueprint at Season Level 50
New Prestige at Season Level 100
New Prestige at Season Level 150
New Prestige at Season Level 200
This means you can earn up to three Prestiges before Season One, and up to four Prestiges each Season after that for a total of 25+ Prestiges across all Seasons. You'll always earn progress toward the Prestige that comes after your current one, and you'll be able to catch up to the latest available Prestige if you didn't reach it during the previous Season.
SHOW OFF YOUR MASTERY
If you reach level 200 in any Season, you'll also achieve the title of Prestige Master for that Season. Your Prestige Level color will change to signify your Prestige Master status, and you'll gain the ability to personalize your Prestige Icon with Legacy Prestige Icons from previous Call of Duty games that you've unlocked (more details on that below).
The journey doesn't stop there if you want to keep climbing. Once you reach Prestige Master in a Season, you can continue to level up all the way to level 1000 every Season, with milestone rewards to earn at every 50 levels along the way.
With the Seasonal Prestige system, you'll always have a single, continuous progression path across all Seasons, with more Prestige rewards to earn than ever before.
So, how does this compare to the traditional Prestige system in previous games? To summarize:
25+ Prestige Levels to conquer across all Seasons (including the period between launch and Season One), instead of only 10 Prestiges to earn.
Six Prestige Master titles to earn by reaching level 200 in each Season, rather than only one opportunity throughout the entire game.
1000 levels to climb in each Season, for when Prestige Master isn't enough of a challenge.
Milestone rewards to earn at every 50 Season Levels.
For the first time, keep all of your Create-a-Class content after you Prestige.
SEASON CHALLENGES
Also beginning in Season One, new Season Challenges will provide even more ways to earn rewards throughout each Season. These will offer two collections of 20 Calling Cards per Season in Black Ops Cold War (20 for Multiplayer and 20 for Zombies), with new Challenges ungated in both collections at every 10 levels up to level 200.
Once a Season Challenge is ungated, it may be progressed and completed to earn its related Calling Card. After a player earns all Calling Cards in a collection, they will receive an animated Season Master Calling Card as a reward. Collect ‘em all!
PRESTIGING IS KEY
In addition to unlocking unique Prestige Icons with each new Prestige Level, you'll also earn Prestige Keys as milestone rewards at every 50 Season Levels. At the new Prestige Shop, you can use Prestige Keys to unlock Legacy Prestige Icons from previous games, which can be equipped if you've achieved the title of Prestige Master in that Season.
The Prestige Shop will become available in Season One for players who have entered Prestige and earned their first Prestige Key. Prestige Shop content can only be unlocked with Prestige Keys, which are earned by playing the game. Once you unlock the Prestige Shop, it will be available from that point on – and with 1000 levels available per Season, you can reach up to 20 milestones each Season.
Milestone rewards can also include Battle Pass Tier Skips to unlock more Battle Pass system content for use in Black Ops Cold War and Warzone. And speaking of Warzone, we've got more good news..
A NEW GLOBAL LEVELING SYSTEM
Best of all, this new player progression system will expand beyond Black Ops Cold War later this year. Starting with Season One in December, Seasonal Prestige will become the new leveling journey across Warzone and Modern Warfare, with all players starting on this new progression path without losing any previously earned content.
Players will also be able to unlock new content for Black Ops Cold War and Warzone through the Battle Pass system whether they're playing Black Ops Cold War, Warzone, or Modern Warfare. Here's the rundown:
Prestige Shop
Use your Prestige Keys at the new Prestige Shop to unlock Legacy Calling Cards and Prestige Icons from previous Call of Duty games and show them off in-game!
You can visit the Prestige Shop from the Progression menu in the Barracks after earning your first Prestige Key. You'll earn your first Prestige Key at Prestige Level 1, and another one every 50 Season Levels throughout each season. With 1,000 levels to climb, you can earn up to 20 Prestige Keys each season starting with Season One.
There are two categories of rewards currently available at the Prestige Shop in Season One:
Prestige Icons
Available to unlock using Prestige Keys after reaching Prestige Master in a season.
These include icons from World at War and previous Black Ops games. Each includes a custom Prestige Icon, a Sticker, and an Emblem.
Players may only equip a Legacy Prestige Icon after reaching Prestige Master in a season. The Emblem and Sticker can be equipped at any time.
Calling Cards
Legacy Calling CardsAvailable to unlock using Prestige Keys as soon as you enter Prestige.
These include Calling Cards from previous Call of Duty games.
Prestige Calling CardsAvailable to unlock using Prestige Keys as soon as you enter Prestige.
These include Prestige Calling Cards from previous Call of Duty games, and will become available when you reach the Prestige Level associated with the Legacy Prestige Calling Card. For example, Prestige 1 Legacy Calling Cards are available to unlock at Prestige 1, Prestige 2 Legacy Calling Cards at Prestige 2, and so on.
Once you spend a Prestige Key to acquire a Calling Card, you may equip it at any time.
Prestige Master Calling CardsAvailable to unlock using Prestige Keys after reaching Prestige Master in a season.
These include Animated Legacy Calling Cards and Blackout Prestige Cards.

Now available at the Progression menu in the Barracks in Black Ops Cold War.
Use Prestige Keys to unlock Legacy Prestige Icons and Calling Cards from previous Call of Duty games.
Legacy Prestige Icons become available to unlock after reaching Prestige Master at Season Level 200.
Each Legacy Prestige Icon Includes a Sticker, Emblem, and custom Prestige Icon. Players can equip a custom Prestige Icon after reaching Prestige Master. Emblems and Stickers can be equipped at any time.

Modes

2XP Tokens
Enabled use of previously earned Modern Warfare / Warzone XP tokens.
Legacy tokens earned in Modern Warfare prior to Season One will be usable in Modern Warfare Multiplayer and Warzone.
All tokens earned in Season One and onward are usable between Black Ops Cold War and Warzone.
Players in Modern Warfare and Warzone will be able to see the total of their legacy and new tokens combined. Legacy will be consumed first. Players will not see legacy tokens in Black Ops Cold War.
Challenges
Season Challenges (Barracks menu) will now show the correct preview images.
Addressed an issue that prevented Season Challenge progression.
